Art & Creative Competitions to Explore

From colour to caricature — every competition celebrates a distinct creative skill, judged fairly across the country. Students from Pre-Primary through Class 12 can participate in one or more categories based on their interests.

Colour sense, neatness & creativity

Participants are evaluated on their ability to choose harmonious colours, stay within lines neatly, and bring imagination to every illustration — rewarding both technique and creative expression.

Handwriting Competition

Letter formation, spacing & legibility

Judges assess consistent letter formation, even spacing between words, and overall legibility — helping students develop a confident, readable hand that serves them throughout their academic life.

Originality, proportion & artistic expression

Students demonstrate their ability to observe and translate the world onto paper — assessed on accurate proportions, clean line work, and the originality they bring to every composition.

This category celebrates storytelling through illustration — participants are judged on their ability to design expressive characters, communicate a concept visually, and display a consistent creative voice.

How It Works

Competition Process
in Schools

Chitrakala Utsav is designed to run smoothly within school premises under teacher guidance. Simple, structured, and school-friendly — from registration to the national stage.

Registration & Confirmation

School confirms participation. The coordinator initiates the process and all competition materials are shared with the school team.

Step 1

Round 1 in School

Competition conducted within school premises under proper teacher supervision. Students participate across all six art categories.

Step 2

Collection & Submission

Completed entries are collected and verified by the school coordinator, then submitted to WOF following official submission guidelines.

Step 3

Evaluation & Round 2 Qualification

Transparent evaluation of all submissions. Qualified students advance to Round 2 and schools are notified with results and next steps.

Step 4

National Level

Round 2 conducted per WOF guidelines. National-level recognitions — medals, certificates and cash prizes — awarded based on merit.

  • The competition must be conducted only within school premises.
  • Schools must adhere to submission timelines and guidelines.
  • Schools must adhere strictly to all announced deadlines.
  • Proper documentation and verification are required for all entries.
  • Last date for submission will be communicated separately by WOF.

Guidelines, Instructions & Rules

To ensure smooth conduct and fair processing of entries, participating schools are requested to follow the guidelines below.

Administrative Instructions
  • Schools will receive one official Entry Form. Please retain a copy for school records before submission.
  • After the competition, the original Entry Form must be submitted along with the student drawings in the parcel.
  • Entries must be submitted only once. Duplicate or multiple submissions will be considered invalid.
Conduct & Supervision Rules
  • The competition must be conducted within the school premises only.
  • Proper supervision by teachers / coordinators is required to ensure fair participation.
  • Students must participate according to their respective category and group.
Packaging & Dispatch Instructions
  • All competition papers must be packed securely in plastic bags.
  • Do not wrap entries in paper, as this may lead to damage or misplacement.
  • Schools are responsible for arranging dispatch to the designated WOF address.
  • All courier / postal charges must be borne by the school.
General Rules & Compliance
  • Only verified entries submitted within the timeline will be considered for evaluation.
  • Entries once submitted will not be returned.
  • The decision of the evaluation panel will be final and binding.
  • WOF reserves the right to verify participation data before announcing awards.
